Docs 360 – cross-platform techniques to help you finance, market and distribute your film.

Docs 360 is run by Initialize Films (linkedin) and the Digital Filmmakers’ Network and is supported by Skillset’s Film Skills Fund, Channel D, and Dogwoof.

PROGRAMME

Docs 360 is a 9-month development programme and competition for documentary filmmakers who want to use cross-platform strategies to develop, finance, market and distribute their film.

We are inviting applications for the programme from documentary filmmakers or teams (directors / producers) between 20 June – 31 August 2010 (please note – APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 31 AUGUST 2010). During this time we will also be running the 360 Sessions – workshops looking at how to manage a cross-platform campaign – beginning at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on 19 – 20 June (see Bonus / Twitter for more details on these workshops).

After the application deadline, ten projects from each nation (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) will be short-listed. After further assessment two teams from each nation will be selected to take part in a 9-month programme of remote mentoring from a number of leading online, social media and cross-platform experts to help them perfect their strategies.

The final 8 teams will present their projects and online strategies at Berlin Film Festival in February 2011 and to a select group of financiers, sales agents, distributors and ad agencies in London in May 2011. The winning team will receive £ 5,000 towards the completion of their film plus £ 20,000 worth of digital marketing support.
